Jen can be pretty demanding. But not of the things you might typically think of. No, Jen demands things like homemade kombucha, sauerkraut, and pickled strawberries. That last one came up last week:
So, of course, I sat out to make them this weekend. We picked up a few of the last local strawberries from the Farmer’s Market and I went to work. The good news is they’re very easy to make, and taste fantastic.
Here’s the recipe I used. I cut the tops off, because I don’t know why you’d want to have to do that later. The next time I make them, I’ll modify the recipe to go more the route the Publican referred to above with vanilla and black peppercorns.
This is a definite improvement on strawberries the way nature intended them.
